Good to know

"Sulfate-free" doesn't automatically mean gentle. Some products swap sulfates for olefin sulfonate, which cleans about as hard. We flag those.

What counts as sulfate-free here?

No sulfate cleanser anywhere on the ingredient list. Sodium coco-sulfate counts as a sulfate, even though some brands call it natural.

Where does the data come from?

Ingredient lists come from the Open Beauty Facts open database. Others come straight from the ingredient list on the brand's own product page. We check a sample of the database products against brand pages and remove any that don't match.
